Created for the 1Minute Projection Mapping Competition 2026 on the facade of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Playful Connection responds to the theme of “dialogue” through a story of human connection. The piece explores the shift from isolation to togetherness, following individuals through solitary moments that transition into scenes inspired by childhood activities such as play, games, and crafting. Guided by music, personal messages transform into paper airplanes traveling across these shared experiences. As the narrative unfolds, these moments evolve into connection, culminating in scenes where people begin to engage with one another. The work reflects on how dialogue emerges through simple acts of creating and playing together. Although not selected as a finalist, the project provided valuable insights into large-scale projection mapping and storytelling.
